Long Beach

If you’re looking for an oceanfront playground in Southern California, Long Beach, California, is the place to go. Here, you can enjoy deep-sea adventures at the Aquarium of the Pacific, whale-watching on the water, and a variety of other water-based activities. You can also experience the culture of the city by checking out its unique districts, coastal breweries, and vibrant food scene. Take advantage of the Long Beach Days & Getaways, a series of excursions that highlight the best local hot spots and local secrets.

The city is home to a diverse population, including a number of different ethnic groups. A recent study published in USA Today found that the city had the second-largest Cambodian community outside of Asia. One neighborhood is known as Little Phnom Penh, and the city is also home to a large Vietnamese and Filipino population.

Long Beach also has several initiatives aimed at protecting its environmental heritage. One of these is the RiverLink project, which is revegetating a section of the Los Angeles River in Long Beach. The project involves clearing non-native species from the right-of-way of Pacific Electric, planting native plants, and creating bike and footpaths to make the space accessible. In addition to this, the city has a dedicated Greenbelt that is the focus of a number of restoration efforts.

The city is also home to the Long Beach Naval Shipyard, where the USS David R. Ray, USS Tarawa, and USS Essex are docked. The city also has two public universities and a non-profit law school. There are also several community colleges, including the University of California, Long Beach.

Long Beach is home to many annual events and festivals. The Grand Prix of Long Beach is the largest event in the city. The event began as a Formula 5000 race in downtown Long Beach and expanded into the United States Grand Prix West in 1978. From 1984 until 2008, it was home to Champ Car races. Today, it’s home to an IndyCar race, a Formula D race, and the Pirelli World Challenge.

If you’re in the mood for culture, Long Beach is home to the Pacific Island Ethnic Art Museum. This museum features Pacific Island art, including sculptures and clothing. It’s also home to the Museum of Latin American Art. While you’re in the city, don’t miss the chance to check out the Queen Mary, which is 130 feet longer than the Titanic and doubles as a hotel. There are plenty of exhibits and tours on board.

If you’re looking for some live theater, Long Beach has several small theaters that are open to the public. There’s also the Carpenter Center, which hosts the California Repertory Company.
